The “One-Stop-Shop” project was designed both to meet the need to concentrate services for citizens, in order to given them easier and faster access to documentation and to provide the townships of Valle Trompia with a centralized system for documents and applications, guaranteeing constantly availability and protection.
The solution proposed by BeSafe centralizes applications and documents in a Microsoft clustered terminal environment based on a hardware infrastructure consisting of two Dell nodes: Dell Storage and a Dell Switch in a Virtual VMware Environment, protected by a DELL Sonicwall firewall system.
The 10 valley townships involved in the project are connected to the Mountain Community HQ by a site-to-site VPN, consisting entirely of a Dell SonicWall system. Regardless of their location, Council staff working on terminals in the various municipalities can now easily access file sharing services, maps and applications.
Virtual servers are installed in a redundant VMWARE environment which guarantees data stability even in the event of a hardware failure on the server itself.
Connectivity is stabilized by double line Internet and is protected by a Dell Sonicwall firewall which guarantees access via a VPN; internal protection of the Virtual Terminal servers is also secured at both Endpoint and perimeter levels. This is made possible by a Dell firewall solution allowing access to sites with content control.
Council office staff can therefore operate independently while working in a closed environment.
By implementing these controls, BeSafe has brought about a level of unified and centralized services, which otherwise would have required separate platforms and different controls, thereby reducing work on network administration.
